Day 5: In the office, wearing my wool Garden Party Dress with oh so many layers. Melbourne got truly cold last week. I still can't believe I made this dress from a free pattern. I think its going to be a favourite this winter!
Day 6: In the office, wearing My brand spanking new maroon cord V1247 Skirt. I wore it with my favoutire polkadot blouse and a cardigan which matches nothing else in my wardrobe!
Day 7: At home, wore my black and red/orange wrap around Miette skirt. This is one of the first garments I ever made so it's looking a little worse for wear. But, I still love it.
Day 8: At home, wore my denim moss skirt with my favourite cosy jumper. Pink AND kittens = best! My denim moss is my first repeat. I still have lots of unworn handmade garments but I really love my moss and its perfect for casual days.
Day 9: At home during the day wearing my hacked Floral Hacked Emery Skirt, with opshop denim blazer and RTW layers. Out to dinner with Tim's Family in the evening wearing my Full O'Heart Emery Dress.
Day 10, Saturday: I wore my brand new grey knit Eva Dress. I think it looks fine with a cardy and scarf.
Day 11: On Sunday I wore my new Sewaholic Belcarra blouse with Denim moss mini.
Some reflections: Thus far I've worn tights EVERY day. While I truly do love skirts and dresses, this is also due to the fact that I have no hand made pants. I do have lots of blouses that could be worn with bought pants, but many of those are summer tops. I find it harder to wear Me-Made on casual day/days at home. Around the house I like to slum it and I've hardly any me-made basics. No PJs, leggings, comfy pants, jumpers, few t-shirts etc. I make lots of clothes that are work, and going out appropriate. I cut out a few knit basics over the weekend to sew up once I get some more overlocker thread. The only item I repeated was my Denim Moss mini, which is a reflection of how often I wear this skirt usually.
ReplyDeleteYour MMM is going great! I'm in the same boat re. casual basics - which are what I tend to wear most around the house! So is Eva getting a second chance? Looks really cosy with the scarf! :)
Thanks!
DeleteEva is getting a second chance, but only when its cold enough to wear something over the awful back pleats!!
Wow, for such a new sewer you have so many great wears. Congratulations on a great MMM week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kirsty! I really have been sewing like crazy over the past few months.
DeleteYou're going great guns! I'll ditto the above, I've got nowhere near as many useable items. After this week, I'll definitely have to do more than a couple of repeats.
ReplyDeleteRepeats are A - Ok. I still have items I haven't worn yet, but making them weather appropriate is proving difficult! Will need to get on the repeat wagon as well!
DeleteYou have a great selection of gorgeous makes. I think you're a natural sewer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful compliment!
